The adidas AdiFOM Q hasn’t been free of controversy since debuting via both unofficial and official images. And while the shoe bears resemblance to the ever-popular Yeezy Foam Runner, it’s poised to cement its own identity.
Informed by the adidas Quake silhouette from 2001, the foam and mesh bootie-featuring silhouette boasts curved perforations across the profiles, marking the biggest similarity between adidas and Ye’s designs. The AdiFOM Q, however, is more aligned with traditional footwear given that it has laces, a tongue and other components instead of the one-piece nature of the Foam Runner. Its second colorway couples “Core Black” with vibrant orange, with the latter hue animating the detachable inner bootie for a customizable, experimental look. Only time will tell if the Three Stripes’ design will rival Mr. West’s, but what’s certain is that the shoe is a breath of fresh air for the German sportswear giant.
Enjoy product images of the pair ahead, and find the shoes available via the adidas CONFIRMED app and other stockists on Thursday, September 15th, for $120 USD.
