Almost exactly a week ago, we shared an in-hand look at Cactus Plant Flea Market‘s newest collaboration: a Dunk Low obscured entirely in overgrown, Grinch-colored foliage. Today, official images of said shoe have finally arrived, better detailing its irreverent absurdity.
Helmed by Cynthia Lu, former stylist for Pharrell, Cactus Plant Flea Market has produced a series of unique and at-times surreal collaborations alongside Nike, from the gardening hose-accented Vapormax 2019 to two bedazzled Dunk Lows. And its atop the latter silhouette that the label is taking things to new, ridiculous heights, as they’ve tweaked Peter Moore’s beloved creation past all recognizability. Even the fixtures not completely covered by the above-mentioned greenery feel unfamiliar: the rear collar is much more rounded and equipped with a pull-tab; the sole is caked in a muddy, dirt-like texture; and the laces are made to resemble grass. The logos/graphics, in contrast, are somewhat more standard, featuring co-branded embroidery across the tongues and Yin and Yang symbol along the heel.
For a closer, more detailed look at the CPFM’s craziest collab yet, check out the official images below. No release date has been disclosed just yet, so sit tight for future updates.
In other news, the Tom Sachs Nike GPS Archive is releasing this Friday.
