Nothing beats the vibes of streetball in the summertime. The raucous trash talk and congested crowds seeping closer onto the court each second is the ambiance in which New York legends were born, with the pinnacle of that blacktop aura residing at the corner of 155th and Frederick Douglass Blvd. in the hallowed grounds of Rucker Park. Throughout the sunny months of the NBA offseason, droves of players flock to the basketball haven to catch a glimpse of the atmosphere’s indescribable feeling. Last Thursday Utah Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell and Uptown legend Fat Joe decided to stop by Harlem’s Rucker Park Streetball League while Spida debuted an all-new look at the D.O.N. Issue 4.
After being greeted by the emcee with a pair of the upcoming Bad Bunny Forum Buckles in blue, Mitchell presented a student from the adidas Legacy program with the first look at the Red and Black offering of his fourth silhouette with the Three Stripes. Three fourths of the models upper is dressed in a fire red color scheme dawning the mesh upper, quarter overlay, sock-liner and laces while the other fourth of the sneaker is diagonally sectioned off for the back heel counter, foxing and collar to lay clad in black. Both the outsole and midsole follow suit in a mix of the aforementioned palette as gold hints pop with Mitchell’s last name being embossed along a suede heel panel.
