Michael Le Along with delivering new colorways of the BAPE STA, A BATHING APE continues to expand on their collaborative partnerships, befriending the likes of JJJJound as well as some of the biggest names in the sneaker industry. And following a number of Reeboks and ASICS, the beloved streetwear label is once again teaming up with New Balance, this time bringing their attention to the 57/40.
Teased atop cardboard boxes back in April, the BAPE x New Balance 57/40 is slated to release in a trio of colorways. And similar to the 2002Rs the two dropped in 2021, all three conjure to mind images of the iconic Shark Hoodie. Adjacent to the fighter jet inspired motifs, which are present along the heel tab, ABC Camos outfit the shoe’s oversized “N” logo, the pattern dressed either green, greyscale, or multi-color. The solid hits of suede and mesh adjacent complement said palettes, rounding out the pair next to quite a few instances of co-branding.
