Despite introducing a different variation of Nike Air Max cushioning, the once-Foot-Locker-exclusive Air Max Plus silhouette is celebrating the founder of Air – Marion “Frank” Rudy – with its latest ensemble.
Ostensibly part of an expansive collection, the newly-surfaced pair indulges in a straightforward colorway akin to a recently-seen Air Max 90. White and off-white hues cover the entirety of the sneaker, with palm tree-inspired TPU overlays across the upper donning a semi-transparent finish. When paired with the blueprint-style sock-liners and “sketched” profile swooshes, the design choice nods to the model’s origins, with the origins of Air being the major theme. “Est. 1998” is stamped onto the lateral Tuned Air bubble underfoot, nodding to the debut of Sean McDowell’s performance-runner, while aglets presumably don “M. FRANK RUDY” text like the aforementioned Air Max 90.
No firm Nike SNKRS launch details have been disclosed by the brand, but that’s likely to change soon. In the meantime, enjoy official images of the pair ahead.
