The Nike Air Force 1‘s 40th Anniversary has progressed in a number of interesting ways, as new versions of the silhouette are constantly coming out of the woodwork. Collaborations and GRs alike have helped appropriately celebrate Bruce Kilgore’s beloved creation, and its latest colorway — which incorporates a variety of both materials and accessories — honors the tools the shoe has used up to this point.
Alternating between dark and light shades of brown, the construction deviates from the Air Force 1’s usual formula. The overlays, for instance, are a patchwork of different fabrics — ripstop, mesh, leather, etc. — which directly contrast the more simple look of the base underneath. Accessories, then, add a luxurious element to the pair’s overall look, with gilded hardware, branded plates, and jewelry affixed to various parts of the upper.
