The Mighty Swooshers Suit Up On The Nike Air Max 97

Although countless sneaker collectors are eagerly waiting for the return of the Nike Air Max 97 in original styles, Christian Tresser’s iconic design recently appeared in a playful “The Mighty Swooshers” theme.

Akin to other Nike Sportswear offerings, the upcoming shoes indulge in comic book-inspired detailing across their upper and sole unit, with the former area reveling in multiple dots of different colors. A callout to the fictional superhero squad appears on the sock-liners, while pull tabs at the top of the tongue and spine use comic book style text to reimagine Air Max-branding, for example. Full-length visible Air units underfoot opt for a contrasting yellow hue that further contributes to the AM 97’s refreshing ensemble.
