Teddy Santis and New Balance have been on a roll since debuting their first collaboration in April 2019. And while the Queens-native has taken a mini break from pushing out footwear through his Aimé Leon Dore label, he hasn’t stopped bringing “cool” to the Boston-based brand’s catalog.
As Creative Director of the company’s Made In USA program, Santis has lent his vision to classic shoe designs like the New Balance 990v2, which is set to drop in a “Sea Salt” (“White”) colorway soon. While free of any co-branding, the upcoming sneakers have the New York City-creative’s mark all over them, with the most obvious touch being the slightly-yellowed sole unit. ALD 550s have helped popularize the “aged” midsole motif, with other components on the 990v2 Made By Teddy also donning the cream hue. Spines rock “USA” messaging boldly, while branding on the sock-line also get a refined look that falls in line with a lot of Santis’ past work.
Enjoy product images of the pair here below, and head over to aimeleondore.com right now to enter the raffle for a chance to purchase a pair for $195 USD. Entries will be accepted until 11:59 P.M. ET on May 24th; the shoes may drop via NewBalance.com on a later date.
