In 1985, Peter Moore designed what would go on to be one of the most recognizable and beloved sneakers of all-time. Recently, the Nike Dunk High has emerged in a new “University” iteration, which seemingly harkens back to the model’s collegiate origins.
Alongside the Air Jordan 1, Moore prepped a straight-forward basketball shoe 37 years ago. Introduced via the “Be True To Your School” initiative, the high-top pair took on a handful of university athletics-inspired colorways that made them go-to options on-and-off the hardwood. The newly-surfaced Dunk High University doesn’t deviate too much from the silhouette’s standard build, but profile swooshes don a chenille material that likely nods to the patches found on collegiate varsity jackets. Hits of “Habanero Red,” “Malachite” and other ostensibly college team colors land across a “White” leather base, offering a summer-ready outfit in the process. Lastly, the latest Nike Dunk features a light gum brown outsole that compliments the upper-half well.
Enjoy official images of the pair ahead, as you wait for firm Nike SNKRS launch details.
