The Nike Air Trainer 1 may not boast the same cachet today that it did in the 1980s, but its importance in the success of the Swoosh can’t be understated. This month, Tinker Hatfield’s industry-pushing design returns in its original “Chlorophyll” style.
Akin to its debut in 1987, the upcoming pair features a “White,” “Black” and “Medium Grey” color palette across its mixed materials upper and sole unit. “NIKE” branding on the vamp’s lockdown strap, upper eyelets and logos at the heel indulge in the titular “Chlorophyll” tone, interrupting the greyscale ensemble along the way. Shades across the board are a bit different from what they were 35 years ago, but that surely won’t stop countless fans from picking up the cross-training proposition once it returns.
Enjoy detailed images of the pair ahead, courtesy of Sneaker Politics, as you wait for a Nike SNKRS launch on Friday, May 20th. (A select boutique release will take place on Friday, May 13th.)
