Earlier in March, Sneaker News broke the news about the upcoming Jordan Luka 1, the debut signature shoe for Dallas Mavericks superstar Luka Dončić. Today, the Luka 1 was unveiled to the world after Luka himself laced up the shoes for his debut game in the Playoffs series against the Utah Jazz (Luka missed the first three games due to injury). Now, Jordan Brand has officially revealed the ins and outs of the new signature performance shoe, highlight two key innovations that support Luka’s game and align with the brand’s commitment to eco-friendly approaches to footwear manufacturing.
The Jordan Luka 1 makes use of two key innovations: IsoPlate and Formula 23. IsoPlate is derived from earlier findings in Flight Plate of the Air Jordan 28 and Eclipse Plate inn Air Jordan 34; the IsoPlate foot frame wraps upwards to further contain the foot during multi-directional movements. Formula 23 foam is one of the most sustainable foams made by a Nike, Inc. brand; it is designed to be lightweight and bouncy to help players feel fresh throughout four quarters of play. The upper is fixed with FlightWire cables to complete the containment package.
Several colorways in full family sizes are expected to release throughout the year, so stay tuned for firm release details and enjoy a first look below.
