The Nike Cortez Inspired The New Blue Ribbon SB Skate Shoe

The Nike Cortez Inspired The New Blue Ribbon SB Skate Shoe

As Nike SB continues to evolve, it’s allowing the past to inform its future as made evident by this all-new upcoming model. According to Nike SB info source @nikesbornothing, this new model is called the Blue Ribbon SB, or BRSB for short as noted on the tongue. It has clear DNA from the Cortez silhouette via the toothy frills and the overall shape of the shoe, but there are some key modern upgrades that deem them fit for skating in the modern day.

In addition to a padded tongue and a cupsole, the BRSBs most prominent feature is a visible cushion embedded into the sole. It is likely that it is neither Air nor Zoom given the lack of markings as well as the Cortez itself lacking an Air-filled unit. It could very well be entirely cosmetic. There is certain lifestyle sensibility with this footwear model, which means its versatility gives it potential as popular skate and casual shoe.

More colorways are certainly in the works, so stay tuned for updates.
