Thanks to the efforts of collaborators Ronnie Fieg, Joe Freshgoods, and, of course, JJJJound, the New Balance 990v3 has made a triumphant return. And now, GR colorways are appearing much more frequently, its latest atypical not for its colors but its materials.
At a glance, the pair appears not too different from the Boston-based footwear brand’s seasonal line-up. Greys and red accents are all present, albeit in shades just a bit darker than the norm. The leather overlays are among the only unique details, as the silhouette commonly features a suede construction. Moreover, the mesh base and the trims across the collar/toe box are comparatively standard, sporting light grey and navy, respectively, in complement to the branding and aforementioned paneling.
For a closer, official look at this upcoming 990v3, see below. These are currently set to hit select retailers this Saturday, 4/9, at a retail of $200 USD.
In other NB news, the GANNI 2002R was officially unveiled this morning.
