“LeBron James” may not be the first name you think of when you think of fast food, but the Los Angeles Laker has recently drawn inspiration from just that for his latest Nike LeBron 19 release.
Previously seen in a predominantly white ensemble, the upcoming pair indulges in a mostly blue tone across its engineered upper. Base mesh layers, then, don an all-over mix of graphics depicting hamburgers, hot dogs, pizza and more. While the “Fast Food” theme may just be a playful one for James’ 19th signature sneaker, it may actually nod to a viral internet moment “the kid from Akron” and his 2008 Team U.S.A. had at a random gas station: seemingly having had limited options, the crew is seen chowing down on some Wendy’s burgers. Underfoot, the robust Air Max-cushioning and accompanying crown-shaped tread forgo any playful styling, opting instead for tones that don’t detract from the animated graphics that take over most of the LeBron 19‘s upper.
Enjoy official images of the pair ahead, and anticipate a Nike SNKRS launch as the end of the NBA season approaches (mid-April).
