This New Balance 2002R Protection Pack Comes With Pre-Distressed Uppers

When it released last year, the New Balance 2002R “Protection Pack” only came in three simple colors: black, grey, and white. But for the collection’s return, the brand has assembled an extremely diverse cast of colorways, suiting the silhouette up in everything from “Vintage Orange” to “Steel Blue.” Things get even more interesting with this newest pair, which delivers a pre-distressed upper similar to Golden Goose’s own offerings.

The colorway, unlike that of the aforementioned, lacks bold color. White shades are used along every part except for the sole, whose gum bottom breaks up the palette underfoot. Suede, mesh, and the like are all based in said neutral, with black markings, smears, and distressing laid over top. This treatment, though typically more uneven, is more just as severe along the midsole as it is on the upper.

For a closer look, check out the official images below. While its peers are slated to land this April in the EU, a release date for this 2002R is still TBD. Sit tight as we await further updates.
