Bad Bunny has kept relatively quiet about his adidas Response CL collaboration. First seen on the Puerto Rican superstar’s feet back in January as part of a photoshoot for Vogue, the “dad shoe” most recently appeared in a mostly yellow colorway during the artist’s stop at Los Angeles’ The Forum venue on February 26th. The model, however, is set to debut on March 10th in a clean “Core White” style.
Unearthed from the archives towards the end of Summer 2020, the adidas Originals silhouette couples performance-oriented mesh bases with a slew of synthetic leather panels throughout the upper. El Conejo Malo’s touch on the retro Three Stripes sneaker gives the aforementioned overlays a “deformed” aesthetic, with both “Core White” and silver panels from forefoot to spine donning a much more jagged presentation than on standard pairs of the Response CL. Unlike his adidas Forum Low collaborations thus far, branding is kept to a minimum on Bad Bunny’s next release, as “El Ojo” (“The Eye”) maintains its position on the heel. The shoes, however, do come packaged with a bunny-donning carrying bag, which further differentiates the reggaetonero’s joint-projects from other offerings. Lastly, the Bad Bunny “dad shoes” don a slightly-yellowed midsole underfoot, which delivers a vintage aesthetic to the Response and adiPrene-cushioned pair.
