While embedded in cultures across the globe, Nike is only officially 50 years old. To celebrate the milestone, the North American compay has put together the “Since 1972” collection, which will include a VaporMax Plus covered in Easter-friendly gradients.
Light yellow, mint and aqua tones come together across the Air Max Plus-inspired upper, with the most vibrant shade among the three landing around the heel. Palm tree-reminiscent, TPU overlays along the spine opt for a greenish blue tone that captures the brand’s past springtime releases well. It’s possible the North American institution has drawn from some of its most iconic colorways from the last 50 years, but the hybrid silhouette boasts an identity of its own via its design and the occasion-specific branding on the sock-liner. Underfoot, the evolutionary Air Max cushioning solution opts for a near “colorless” ensemble that allows the upper’s gradient to steal the show.
No firm Nike.com release details have been disclosed by the brand, but a springtime launch is likely. In any case, enjoy official images of the pair ahead.
Elsewhere under the NIKE, Inc. umbrella, the Air Jordan 1 Hi ’85 “Georgetown” is expected to hit stateside retailer in April.
