Valentine’s Day sneakers are’t a new phenomenon, but they seldom shine light on the downside of love. Nike’s voodoo doll-accessorized collection, however, seems to do just that, utilizing the Air Max Pre-Day for its latest statement.
Preceded by two pairs of the Nike Blazer Mid, the newly-surfaced sneaker indulges in a patchwork-like ensemble across its upper. The seemingly-random fabric and pattern layout the covers everything from the toe box to the spine nods to the Air Max‘s titular detail, a detachable voodoo doll, as the figurine arrives with unrefined stitching and a medley of colors and prints. Two buttons applied to the lateral collar allow for wearers to don the accessory as they see fit, while “love” embroidery on the heel ostensibly touches on the doll’s purpose. Down below, the shoe’s predominantly blue outfit is abandoned for a subtle color combination that borrows a brownish hue from up-top for its waffle-patterned tread.
Enjoy official images of the pair here below, and expect a Nike SNKRS launch soon.
In related sneaker news, the Air Jordan 1 Hi ’85 “Georgetown” is set to release stateside in April.
