Cupid, The Greek God Of Love, Appears On The Nike Zoom Freak 3 “Valentine’s Day”

For those of you looking to get freaky on Valentine’s Day, Nike has prepared a special rendition of the Nike Zoom Freak 3 for the upcoming holiday. However, these Valentine’s Day sneakers go a bit deeper beyond simple timing because Cupid, the chubby cherub known for sparking love, has its roots in Greek mythology. Although fellow Greek legend Giannis Antetokoumpo is currently living and breathing, his influence and stature will surely live on in hoops mythology for ages to come.

Rather than relying on the standard red and pink hues, Nike dresses this Zoom Freak 3 with a mix of blue hues that is possibly a nod to the blue skies that Eros flies around in search of his next matchmaking project. Hints of a dusty pink appear on the logo and adhesive fabric for the strap, while a creamy coconut hue appears on the mid-sole and lacing. The ankle is decorated with a pattern that could pertain to Cupid’s arrows making contact, while the left tongue logo see an arrow through a basketball. Finally, the shoebox takes a direct holiday route as it is covered in red with a heart-shaped cut-out on its lid.
