The Nike Dunk Low “Avocado” Was Grown With Love

The Nike Dunk Low “Avocado” Was Grown With Love

As funny as it may sound, food and sneakers go hand-in-hand. Some of the most memorable releases have been inspired by the culinary world in some way, with the most notable directly copying dishes like burgers, waffles, and bacon. With this upcoming Dunk Low, Nike is putting back on their chef hat, flavoring the silhouette with a hint of avocado.

Forgoing toast entirely, the colorway draws direct inspiration from the avocado in its purest state. The rough, dark green shell is used as a reference for the upper, its leather even mimicking the exact texture. Lighter greens add a sense of dimension along the edges, while the lining and suede collar adjacent mirror the edible flesh. And just inside, the insole dyes a shade similar to that of the pit, completing the overall homage to the fruit itself.

Stamped with graphic tags reminiscent of what you’d find at a grocery store, the Dunk Low “Avocado” should be hitting Nike SNKRS and select retailers soon.

In other news, the Yeezy Boost 350 v2 Oreo might be returning this Spring.
