With Chinese New Year just days away, Nike’s upcoming “Year of the Tiger” offerings are finally boiling to the surface. And while only few details were shared with its leak last year, it’s obvious this upcoming Dunk High is joining in on the fun.
At a glance, an all-white colorway wouldn’t seem very interesting at all. But once you look closer, you’ll find a number of interesting details and a quality that rivals even the Dunk High’s collaborative make-ups. The toe, for starters, modifies the usual perforations, stamping five stars right down the center. Adjacent, the tongue proffers a woven construction, which ostensibly pays homage to handmade crafts much like the stitched in piece at the heel. What’s more, a Chinese character — which roughly translates to “Pick Up” — embroiders into the heel, while “BE TRUE TO YOUR” marks the inside in the same neutral, almost invisible finish.
