Sean Wotherspoon has enjoyed a career desired by many. In addition to the Round Two empire he’s helped build, the Virginia-native has brought his footwear ideas to life with the help of some of the industry’s biggest players – including adidas. For his latest SUPEREARTH creation, Wotherspoon has utilized the adidas EQT Support 93.
Akin to most of the designer’s previous work, sole units on the upcoming Three Stripes project maintain a rather simple color palette. The choice allows for the reworked upper’s arrangement to revel in the spotlight: scale-like black netting reveals a purple textile base, while durable nylon panels sit atop the material at the forefoot. Reinforcement running from mid-foot to mid-foot indulge in the aforementioned purple tone, while the embroidered flowers found on past SUPEREARTH offerings make their way onto the lateral heel in red and pink hues. Profile 3-Stripes opt for a ruby-colored look, while plastic lace loops along the tongue boast the colors of the rainbow; lacing is inspired by trail shoes, as it features a speed-toggle option. As the “SUPEREARTH” distinction denotes, the shoes are animal-free and don’t utilize any virgin products to promote sustainability.
Wotherspoon nor adidas Originals has confirmed launch details for the latest EQT collaboration, but that’s likely to change as spring inches closer. While you wait to try your luck at a pair via the adidas CONFIRMED app, enjoy a first-look at the shoes ahead.
Elsewhere under the Three Stripes banner, the Yeezy 700 MNVN “Resin” releases on January 31st.
