Michael Le While their 2021 collaborations may have started with Egyptian ideas yet again, Concepts quickly grew more interesting with each release, drawing references to otoro, silent films, and even the Kiwi Queen. 2022 builds off this momentum, as the boutique has prepared not just one but two different Rock and Roll inspired Nike Air Max 1s.
Next to its earlier-revealed counterpart, this pair is far lighter on the bandana print; it still, however, features fashion staples signature to the music genre. Acid wash denim, for example, marks much of the upper, its panels accented atop with Swooshes akin to floral and color-heavy patches. A faux fur, cow-patterned panel dresses the vamp, proffering a gaudy ’80s feel that effectively plays off the corduroy hits, graphic-adorned collar, and additional velvet laces. The camo-adorned mudguard opts for a somewhat modified tiger stripe, which is fitting as the Vietnam war began soon after rock and roll’s recorded origin.
