Back in 2020, Maison Margiela and Reebok unveiled their very first collaborative release, the Tabi Instapump Fury, which walked the runway in the iconic “Citron” colorway. The silhouettes to follow continued to play around with the footwear brand’s heritage, adding design elements signature to the beloved designer. Now, for 2022, the two are picking back up where they left off, bringing the cut-out “Décortiqué” form to the Classic Leather Tabi Low.
Like many of Margiela’s past offerings, these shoes build off what’s already there. This collection, specifically, borrows from the same-named high-tops from June of last year, simply applying the Décortiqué concept to a low-top form. Developed by creative director John Galliano, this technique deconstructs a piece down to its architectural frame, taking out that which is not functionally necessary. Here, that includes a number of the upper’s side and heel panels, each cut out unlike the black, white, red, and hand-painted pieces adjacent.
For a closer look at all four options, check out the official images below. These are set to release on MaisonMargiela.com and Reebok.com on January 28th at a retail of $595 USD.
In other news, official images of the Air Jordan 1 Dark Marina Blue just surfaced.
