Pharrell Dreams Up An adidas NMD S1 HU Boot

Pharrell Dreams Up An adidas NMD S1 HU Boot

With news of the NMD’s variants releasing in more colorways, it’s clear that adidas is paving the way for the silhouette’s resurgence. And to tilt things more in their favor, the Three Stripes have enlisted the help of Pharrell, who has created his very own version of the NMD S1.

Dubbed the HU NMD S1 RYAT, the shoe builds atop the sole that’s already there. Save for the custom yellow and sky blue detailing, the tooling bears a shape and finish near identical to the original S1. The upper, however, is farther removed, bearing a lifestyle look closer to that of a boot than a performance runner. Hits of suede are applied through the toe and eye stay, decorating a more robust canvas base. Leather overlays, then, wrap the side, serving not just a cosmetic purpose but also a functional one, as its outermost perforation acts as an eyelet to the pink laces adjacent. Elsewhere, the pull tab helps round out the palette in a bright green, while the lining and Humanrace text opt for black neutrals.

Enjoy a closer look at the model below. A release is slated to hit adidas.com and select retailers later this January.
