The folks over at Union Los Angeles have been busy over the last 346 days, and by the looks of it, the next 346 days won’t be any different. Having helped Patta unveil a “Black” colorway of its Nike Air Max 1 “The Wave” collection, Chris Gibbs seems to have prepped yet another Nike Dunk Low to release in 2022.
While not boasting one-to-one correlations, the West Coast boutique’s latest take on Peter Moore’s low-top proposition shares some similarities with the Air Jordan 2 duo it’s dropping soon. Non-standard materials appear throughout the Nike Dunk‘s body, with a grid-pattern taking over the entirety of the upper. The two previously-surfaced styles indulge in shades of blue and earth tones, while the latest pair seemingly nods to the hometown Los Angeles Lakers franchise. Overlays deliver white contrast to the faded purple base visible at the toe box, mid-foot and heel, while stitching throughout the sneaker’s body opts for vibrant yellow flair; the shop’s “UN/LA” tab reappears on the lateral profile, further injecting the bold tone into the mix. Tongue labels, inner lining and outsoles revert to the 17-time NBA title winner’s regal purple. Lastly, Union’s “The Frontman” figure – which is stylized after Sydney Poitier’s depiction of Walter Lee Young in the 1961-film adaption of “A Raisin In The Sun” – is placed on the lateral heel.
Enjoy an early-look at the latest from the LA-based brand here below, and anticipate a Nike SNKRS launch before 2022 ends.
