Those who respect the OG icons all have this in common: a profound personal style that mimics their life’s work. Jordan Viray, a graphic design veteran and lifetime collector of backpacks and body art, credits his choice in gear to his Bay Area roots; it was there he witnessed and contributed to the region’s golden age of graffiti, skateboarding, and DJing. The Superstar is an obvious choice for Jordan as it sat at that key intersection where all those cultural movements have collided to form the foundation of street culture as we know it.
Jordan brought that Bay Area-bred knowledge to Brooklyn, NY, where his insatiable passions fueled a long-running career and creative ventures, which includes co-founding the now-defunct Dudes Sale vintage flea at Kinfolk, or partnering with Mechanic Coffee on special projects. Now settled in Pittsburgh, PA, he and his family became even more tightly bound through various outdoors activities. The adidas TERREX line has served him well, with the TERREX AX4 hiker and the TERREX Zupahike Hiking pants being mainstays in his nature-focused family escapades.
Fashion and technology are the fast-track industries of modern day, but Julie Viray has steadily built a career over the last fifteen years in those fields purely by chasing a lifetime passion. Innovation and design may describe the core of her profession as a leader in Human Resources (which includes valuable stints at Levi’s, West Elm, and now at Uber), but it also informs her choice in adidas footwear. Among those is the all-new UltraBOOST 2022; the latter was specifically designed by women and engineered to the exact specifications of female runners, but it’s no surprise that Julie’s intuition led her that silhouette when choosing a daily runner for her pre-work strolls or city explorations. But above all, her most cherished and purposeful occupation is that of mother, whom she is to Timo and Isa. Shop the UltraBOOST ’22 here.
Siblings Timo and Isa Viray could not be more different. Timo’s rational, bookish side brings home straight-As, and his interest in software has him dreaming of becoming a video game designer. And with a love for sports (particularly skateboarding and basketball) and comics, Donovan Mitchell’s Spider-Man inspired Don Issue #3 is the perfect wear – even when he’s not shooting hoops. Isa is the emotive firecracker of the two, never shying away from the spotlight. The Superstar, her dad’s favorite, shines bright in iridescent pink, a color she can’t seem to get away from. Despite their differences, both love to spend time outdoors, never missing a chance to jump on a skateboard or scooter.
