Singles Day has come and gone. Now, Nike is making some targeted footwear for the couples living in bliss, and this pairing specifically has the South Korean demographic in mind. Couples-oriented outfits aren’t exclusive to the southern peninsula, but Koreans take it quite seriously. Broadcasting your taken status to the public through matching or complementary gear is a long-standing tradition that won’t end anytime soon, and these newly dropped Killshots and Daybreaks do just that via a sail/pomegranate/deep royal blue color palette and a set of detachable patches that celebrate love.
What makes these unique to Korea is the hand gesture that depicts the index and thumb crossed to form the silhouette of a heart. The sign is believed to have originated in 2010 by actress Kim Hye-soo and popularized by the likes of G-Dragon, who himself has a Nike collaboration releasing on 12/3 – the Nike KWONDO 1.
Both pairs are available now on Nike Korea, but stay tuned for updates on global availability.
