The Swarovski x Nike Air Force 1 Is Built With Retroreflective Crystals

The name Swarovski alone conjures a wealth of applause — especially whenever sneakers are involved. And following a brief departure to adidas, the jewelry purveyor is back in Nike’s arms, joining hands for two eccentric takes on the Air Force 1.

Even at a glance, one can see these are worlds apart from the collaborations prior. Gone are the usual jewels, herein replaced by retroreflective crystals that appear more like metallic studs from a distance. 228 in total, each shines much like a road reflector, providing both utility and a twist on Swarovski’s bright 125 years of history. How each piece is arranged is up to the wearer, too, as they dress atop a modular shell adjustable via the included screwdriver.
