2014’s Guardians Of The Galaxy rewrote the formula for a successful MCU film. Prior to its release, most of the Marvel films contained the basic and predictable ingredients of a superhero movie, but James Gunn’s direction injected a level of snarky, self-deprecating humor as well as a flawless soundtrack that established a true anti-hero identity. Much of its success can be credited to Peter Quill’s portrayal by Chris Pratt; Star Lord’s ascension can be compared to the American actor’s own rise from relative nobody to part-Celestial.
As adidas continues its partnership with Disney and the MCU properties, fans will be treated to two spins on the Forum made with Quill in mind. The Forum Mid is designed to mimic his leather jacket as it features a mystery red leather exterior and a zippered tongue. The 84 Hi revives the original blue colorway, perhaps aligning with Quill’s love for 80s music. In addition too recreating the OG colorway, adidas touches on Quill’s vandalistic nature with a graffiti-style detail on the medial. Both Forums also feature a custom tongue label with a Guardians crest, with a custom boxes housing the shoes.
James Gunn recently posted a photo of the Guardians Of The Galaxy 3 cast from the film’s first day of shooting. Coincidentally, adidas in Australia is scheduled to release these on November 14th, although a global release is still TBD.
