Michael Le When Balenciaga debuted the Triple S, brands across the sneaker industry were quick to imitate, attempting to reproduce the shoe’s size, aesthetic, and bulk. And though years ago, the effects of the high fashion silhouette can still be felt today, inspiring taller versions of existing classics. Here, Jordan Brand throws yet another in the ring: the humble but still imposing Air Jordan 1 Low LV8D.
All energy was put into the design of the platform sole, which is a heavily exaggerated version of the AJ1’s usual tooling. The midsole as well as the tread is double, near triple the size of the original, matching the proportions of the entire upper. But unlike the bottom, the latter is kept more familiar, opting for a standard display of white and tan leathers.
