Despite reappearing in its original (“OG”) form with the help of Travis Scott, the Air Jordan 1 Low is set to close out 2021 in its modern-day arrangement. Ahead of the year’s colder months, the silhouette has emerged with non-standard, more-durable materials.
Akin to past iterations of Michael Jordan’s first signature sneaker (and the near-identical Nike Dunk Low), the newly-surfaced pair indulges in a classic “White” base and “Black” overlay combination. Both components, however, comprise of a rigid canvas sure to protect from the elements more than the model’s standard synthetic leather material. Rich red contrast enters the mix across the sneaker’s stitching, as well as via the “Wings” insignias at the bottom heel. The aforementioned coarse cloth across the upper boasts a carbon fiber-like pattern that matches the carbon fiber piece found at the center of the outsole as part of the offering’s “SE” (“Special Edition”) and “Utility” qualities.
