Jovani Hernandez Unofficially dubbed the “Shattered Backboard” colorway, the Air Jordan 5 “Orange Blaze” finally releases on October 2nd.
Confirmed as part of Jordan Brand’s Fall 2021 collection, the pair brings summer-ready and inspired flair to the beginning of the autumnal season. An off-white tone makes up the majority of the retro’s aesthetic, with the aforementioned citrus tone animating the logo on the tongue and much of the midsole. Unlike standard iterations of Tinker Hatfield’s third design for Michael Jordan’s signature sneaker line, the upcoming Jordan 5 boasts a mesh construction around the ankle, not just at the mid-foot. The choice has been criticized by many spectators on social media, but the shoes’ clean color-blocking, reflective detailing and perfect-for-aging outsole will surely ensure that the pair sells out on release day.
