With his eyes set on another Super Bowl run, Patrick Mahomes II has been hard at work during the preseason. One of the new things helping his game going into the 2021-2022 NFL season has been the adidas Mahomes 1.0 IMPACT FLX (read: “Flex”), the 25-year-old’s first signature sneaker.
Inspired by the quarterback’s “now or never” tenacious mentality, the training shoe features performance-benefits informed by the inevitable race against the clock that pans out in every drill, practice and game. TPU overlays across the upper deliver enhanced lockdown and security in the forefoot, which is pivotal during dynamic movements. The bulk of the Mahomes 1.0’s top-half is constructed from ripstop stitch woven material that works in-tandem with the tongue-less, sock-like construction to create a durable, protective ride that doesn’t sacrifice comfort or responsiveness. Additionally, the BOOST foam midsole proffers adidas’ tried-and-proven cushioning solution to the co-branded, mid-top training proposition.
