The Three Stripes have improved 4D quite a bit in the course of a few years, the cushioning now much more accessible in price and variety. And soon, it will even help usher in adidas Equipment‘s 30th anniversary, bringing the line-up’s Predator Accelerator into an entirely new category.
In design, the upper resembles the original cleat very closely, making use of an identical blocking and paneling. Even the lace unit is off-kilter all the same, though it removes the additional cover for a slightly sleeker profile. What’s more, the heel is accented with suede, adding to the sports-centric kit a subtle lifestyle flair. Underfoot, the 3D-printed tooling outfits in a light mint, complementing the “Sub Green” mesh and rubber molds that scatter next to the white and black leathers.
