Teddy Santis And Aime Leon Dore Remaster Another New Balance Classic: The 650R

Teddy Santis And Aime Leon Dore Remaster Another New Balance Classic: The 650R

Only a couple months into his new job at New Balance and Teddy Santis has already prepared something special for Spring 2022. Alongside his beloved streetwear label Aime Leon Dore, the designer-turned-creative-director is bringing back yet another relic of the past: the 650R.

Effectively the taller, more supportive alternate to the 550, the silhouette arrives as it did long ago in the 80s. Its high-top look is adjusted only slightly, given a collar a bit shorter and more padded than the original. Elsewhere, however, the construction is undoubtedly familiar, the spitting image of its low-top counterpart part in near every beat save for the “650” markings and the additional logo-clad panel along the rim. In palette, the connections only deepen as Teddy Santis has applied the same exact color scheme used on ALD’s previous collaborative efforts.

Enjoy a brief look at the upcoming release below. Dates, pricing, and further details should surface closer to Spring ’22.

In other news, the AURALEE New Balance 550 is hitting global soon.
