adidas Melts Ice Cream Over The ZX 8000

adidas Melts Ice Cream Over The ZX 8000

adidas lucked out with Bad Bunny. Arguably the most influential artist to come out of Puerto Rico, the rapper/singer/songwriter helped produce what is likely one of the Three Stripe’s best releases of the year. And before the clock turns to 2022, it seems we’re to see the ZX 8000 join the collaborative line-up.

In design as well as color, the runner subverts the simplicity of the Forum Buckle Low before it. Numerous pastels come together along the upper, dressing panels that warp to resemble ice cream melting down the shoe’s side. This creates a rather psychedelic look throughout, with both suede and ribbed textures aiding the illusory experience. The visuals only grow more intense upon closer glance: pieces ooze over the edge of the off-white tooling, laces tie just slightly off-kilter, and the branded fixtures — e.g. the tongue patch and dubrae — morph to an equally eccentric degree.

Though perfect for the heat wave, the Bad Bunny x adidas ZX 8000 will likely release a bit further down the road. Expect updates on release date and pricing to surface very soon.

In other news, the Black Forum Buckle Low should be releasing first.

UPDATE 7/6/2021:
According to an adidas representative, this adidas ZX 8000 has no connection to Bad Bunny and will not be releasing at all in the future.
