Before 2020, the Nike MetCon series had enjoyed raved reviews among gym-going weightlifters, but its popularity saw a notable uptick throughout the last year as countless people started working out from home. Recently, the North American brand launched the Nike MetCon 7 in Asia, which suggests a stateside release is on the horizon.
Taking its name from CrossFit’s metabolic conditioning aspect, Nike’s MetCon line has delivered stability and comfort to those engaging in high-intensity cardio sessions. With a shape generally similar to its immediate predecessor, the seventh installment in the lineup features Nike React foam for improved cushioning and springiness. The tooling pairs with a wide, flat heel layout that includes an inner plate meant to distribute weight from edge to edge. Aesthetically, the arrangement resembles experimental propositions from Nike Sportswear, but technically, the MetCon 7 is in a league of its own. A tab has also been added to the tongue in order to lock down the laces during any workout session. Lastly, revamped rubber detailing throughout the shoe enables enhanced grip and traction for everything from rope climbing to speed work.
Enjoy official images of the MetCon 7‘s inaugural colorways ahead, and anticipate a stateside Nike.com launch soon.
