Jovani Hernandez The Air Jordan 1 Low has historically been bolder than its tallest counterpart, appearing in a wide range of colorways. Its latest ensemble doesn’t introduce a new color palette or blocking to Michael Jordan’s signature sneaker legacy, but it delivers playful imagery across the outsoles courtesy of the “Nike And The Mighty Swooshers” collection.
Akin to a previously-seen Nike Air Force 1-variant, the upcoming retro plays into a comic book/manga theme. Although the Air Jordan doesn’t feature a bevy of vibrant graphics all throughout its upper like the aforementioned Nike Sportswear classic, it includes a set of hypnotic eyes visible through the semi-translucent, icy tread. Speech bubbles also appear on the outsole, further propelling the white, light purple and blue pair into “character.” More on-theme styles of MJ’s first signature sneaker have been teased, but none have drastically deviated from this shoe’s general aesthetic. Time, however, may reveal otherwise.
