adidas Running Unleashes Its Latest Wave Led By The adizero adios Pro 2

adidas has been pushing the boundary in regards to performance-running footwear since its inception in 1949. Over the last 20 years, the German sportswear institution has made some of its most significant developments. And while a handful of them have acquired mainstream adoption via lifestyle propositions, others continue to be staples within countless athletes’ arsenal. Most recently, the Three Stripes has unveiled the latest chapter of its road and track legacy via three new running shoes and a track spike.

The latest propositions from adidas Running have been developed with insight and data from some of the world’s fastest athletes, many of whom congregated in Kenya over the last couple of years to train. Via countless sessions, mechanical, biomechanics and physiological information was captured and funneled into the creation of the newest adizero collection.

Continue ahead for a breakdown of the three key road running shoes. The adizero adios Pro 2 and adizero Prime X are already available to Creator Club Members via adidas.com; a global launch will take place on June 18th. The adizero Boston 10 is also available now via adidas.com and select retailers.

ADIZERO ADIOS PRO 2

The sequel to adidas’ latest foray into modern-day performance footwear, the adizero adios Pro 2 is more of an evolution than revolution from its predecessor, which launched in June 2020 and has helped a number of runners break records – including the women’s-only half marathon world record. Twice.

At a glance, the shoe maintains a similar shape, but closer inspection reveals a number of notable updates. The upper is constructed from CELERMESH 2.0, an ultra-lightweight, partially recycled polyester. Unlike other solutions on the market, this shoe’s flexible and breathable top-half has been created using athlete data, enabling fine tuning. The pair’s most notable change is arguably the LIGHTSTRIKE PRO midsole. Re-sculpted, the cushioning still encapsulates adidas’ carbon-infused ENERGYRODS, but accompanies them with a new design that limits energy loss. Underfoot, the CONTINENTAL™ Rubber outsole has been distributed more evenly across the shoes’ bottoms, appearing at the tip of the toe. Additionally, new light-weight heel construction enables anti-slip lockdown improved from the original adizero adios Pro.

ADIZERO BOSTON 10

For years, the adidas Boston line has been a go-to option for runners who want a stable and solid shoe that’s versatile enough to transition between training sessions and races. Previously infused with BOOST-cushioning, the series’ latest entry – the adizero Boston 10 – offers a LIGHTSTRIKE PRO-cushioning solution like the adizero adios Pro 2. In addition to the race day-ready setup, this pair features durable LIGHTSTRIKE EVA foam, which has been utilized across the Three Stripes’ products over the last several years to much fanfare. The adizero Boston 10’s use of two different midsole components delivers a “chunky” aesthetic that pairs well with the CONTINENTAL™ Rubber outsole for daily training runs.
