Jovani Hernandez Announced at the tail-end of April, the Reebok Question Low “Green Toe” is set to release on May 14th. Ahead of the drop date, European institution, BSTN, has launched a photo campaign in which it recreated the handful of iconic hairstyles Allen Iverson donned throughout his influential career in the NBA.
Although Iverson’s first signature sneaker has gone on to enjoy a cult-following over the last 25 years, his on and off-court looks have also left their mark on the world. In the midst of the Virginia-native’s time with the Phildelphia 76ers, countless fans of all ages attended home and away games with shooting sleeves, headbands and even cornrows. Iverson went against the league’s stiffness, donning clothes and boasting swagger that was 100% authentic to him. In addition to the oversized velour sweatsuits and jean shorts, Iverson rocked the aforementioned braids (never forget when his mother did his braids in the middle of an NBA game!), as well as afro, both recreated in the European retailer’s latest creative project. It’s been said before, but it can’t be stressed enough that the current focus on tunnel outfits could not have happened without “Bubba Chuck”.
