The adidas Superstar Workshop 1 Explores Structural Experiments With Denim

Having celebrated its 50th anniversary throughout 2020, the adidas Superstar has allowed some of its counterparts to revel in the spotlight within the first four months of the new year. Recently, however, the shell-toe proposition has emerged in a different variant, the Workshop 1 (WS1), suggesting it’s ready to command more attention throughout the second half of 2021.

At a quick glance, the forthcoming pair maintains the same shape that’s made the adidas Originals icon a classic, but closer inspection reveals an experimental take. Akin to previously-seen iterations courtesy of Pharrell Williams and Y-3, the WS1 features haphazardly-shaped overlays and exposed stitching across its upper. While it’s unknown whether or not the new model will only boast denim material, the inaugural option does. Suede and leather also make their way onto the shell-toed design, and are accompanied by a metallic carabiner at the heel. Underfoot, sole units keep their standard off-white arrangement.

Full release details are still unknown, but the Superstar WS1 is likely to launch before summer ends. In the meantime, enjoy official images of the pair ahead.
