Jovani Hernandez As the world waits to see what Kanye West’s Yeezy has in store for Derrick Rose, adidas has revisited the southern California-inspired “Boardwalk” colorway for its latest D Rose 11.
Seen on models like the D Rose 4 and D Rose 10, the “Prism Mint/Red Zest/Tech Beige” color palette nods to Rose’s off-season home near the border between the U.S.A. and Mexico. Akin to other styles of the Chicago-native’s latest signature sneaker, the forthcoming pair is rooted in the current New York Knick’s personal story. adiZero textile uppers pair with LIGHTSTRIKE midsoles for a supportive, responsive and lightweight proposition. Although much of the sneaker is clad in the aforementioned “Prism Mint” tone (as was the case on past options), contrast enters the mix via the lateral 3-Stripes, tongue, collar, heel and cushioning underfoot. Tread opts into a rather tonal white makeup, but detailing at the center and heel bring some of the upper’s flair down below.
