Around the mid-2000s — just a few years before the Dunk lost its steam — Nike SB started getting a bit crazy with their releases. Alongside Peacocks and Dr. Feelgoods, the sub-label offered the “Three Bears Pack,” a collection that honored Baby, Mama, and Papa Bear with the Dunk Low, Mid, and High respectively. And today, it seems we’ll see just the father of the family make its way back to the spotlight, albeit in a “reverse” style and with more ordinary materials.
While not an overt or exact homage, the colorway here strikes near all of the same chords. And though the tones are just a few shades off, they’re all represented throughout the flipped color blocking. Darkened tanned suedes appear like fur at the overlays, while navy finishes underneath in a subtly tumbled leather. The latter, then, contrasts the white midsole as well as the browned tongue label, but still complements the muted pinks that brandish the Swoosh as well as the laces.
For a closer look, see the official images below. According to SNKRS Korea, a release is due for April 3rd. It’s likely a US SNKRS release will take a bit more time to make its way here.
In other news, the Dunk Low FREE.99 collection is releasing later this year.
UPDATE 5/5/2021:
END is reporting a May 9th release for this “Papa Bear” resmiscent Nike SB Dunk Low Pro.
