Although the fate of the Tokyo Olympics may change, one thing has been indirectly confirmed: athletes sponsored by the Swoosh will wear the Nike Vapormax Flyknit 2021 throughout the event. Before the summer competition arrives, however, the silhouette has emerged in an all-pink ensemble.
Monochromatic styles aren’t new to the VaporMax family, but they’ve only just begun being coupled with Nike Regrind tooling. The pair’s FlyKnit base introduces subtle greyscale detailing into the mix, but its mixed-materials overlays overshadow any non-rose detailing. Akin to a recently-surfaced “Oatmeal” arrangement, the forthcoming option boasts profile swooshes that slightly deviate from the tonal aesthetic, but its laces, components around the collar and heel counter all deliver solid pink flair perfect for spring and summer. Underfoot, the reworked cushioning maintains a translucent, semi-blue makeup that dons multi-color reinforcement at high-wear zones.
An official Nike.com release date is unknown, but this pair is likely to launch before summer ends. In the meantime, enjoy images of the shoes here below.
Updated April 21st, 2021: A release date is scheduled for May 20th, 2021.
