adidas Yeezy has long leveraged the Yeezy Boost 350 v2, releasing a massive ensemble of colorways every season. And though the schemes themselves are somewhat distinct, the construction has evolved little since the silhouette’s debut. However, come later this year, we’ll finally witness a true subversion as the uppers are soon to add on visible cages.
As close to a v3 as we’ll ever get, the new design imagines the Yeezy flagship in an entirely new way. Gone are the side stripes that often laid the profile; in its place, the knit is more one-note, with light greys outlining the supportive underlayer. A darker shade calls attention to the latter’s openings, creating a unique pattern that’s more sci-fi than any of the brand’s previous offerings. Heel pulls are back in thick webbing, the sole seems to forgo the additional outsole piece, and the laces complement the lining just adjacent.
For a look at this upcoming variant, see here. A total of four different colorways are due to release throughout the year — three later this June and one this August.
In other news, the Yeezy 450 is finally releasing this week.
