Recently, images of canvas-covered vintage Nike trainers with Regrind rubber outsoles have been surfacing. As this collection continues to grow, the Swoosh isn’t hesitating to incorporate the eco-friendly material into other models in the meantime. Aside from heritage silhouettes, the Air Max Plus is also receiving the Regrind treatment this season.
The new offering seems to pick up from where Nike left off, following the release of several sustainable Air Max Plus options back in early January. Uppers are covered in black mesh, complemented by grey wavy overlays. Although these overlays are usually constructed of TPU for a raised look, the pair opts for a flat synthetic design. Reflective speckled laces and linear overlays on the toe—along with silver taping down the tongue that reads “TUNED” on one shoe and “AIR” on the other—elevate the model for a futuristic look. To round out the design, the Regrind is seen underfoot, in full speckled glory.
You can grab a pair at the retailers listed below in the coming months for $160.
