Beauty & Youth Applies An Attractive Grey Palette Onto The New Balance 878

The New Balance 878 made a brief cameo throughout 2019 thanks to both END Clothing and size?. And now, after an entire year’s hiatus, the model is slated to return thanks to the kindness of Japan’s Beauty & Youth.

Like many of their collaborations before, B&Y’s 878 arrives entirely understated, hued like many of the Boston-based footwear brand’s best heritage offerings. Throughout the overlays, a premium suede lays down in light grey, while the complementing mesh underneath darkens quite a bit with a slight blue pigment. Elsewhere, reflective Ns mark the side, white embroideries brand the tongue, and some ecru, vintage-esque finishes treat the entire midsole.
