At times, certain Nike releases draw not from outside influences but the shoes themselves. In the case of this upcoming Air Max 97, the brand has chosen to reference the engineering of the silhouette in as maximal a way as possible.
This is achieved primarily through the construction’s underlayer, which effectively pays tribute to the 97’s innovative “FULL-LENGTH MAX” sole. Alongside Air Max specific iconography, the aforementioned text sprawls across the foundation in a pastel array of color. Elsewhere, aside from the light blue line that runs the profile, metallic silvers dress the overlays, offsetting the all-over print in a muted yet luxurious neutral. What’s more, each of these panels also appear to have water droplets permanently attached to their exterior.
For now, take a detailed look at the pair below. A release should be hitting Nike.com and select retailers within the coming months.
