Originally released in 1999, the Nike Air Tuned Max is finally getting the Retro treatment for the first time ever. A long time coming, expect the silhouette to make its re-debut very soon with not only the quintessential, Skepta-adored OG but also another blue-dominant alternative.
With the change in color, the pair takes on a look far different from its “Dark Charcoal” counterpart. While the latter leans more towards muted futurism, the scheme here seems far more retro-inspired, with cool tones calling further attention to the mesh underlaid and the polished leather panels that accent the toe and heel. Reflective bits then add flash to the upper collar, its base state complementing that of the metallic silver cages forward. Swooshes, which sit small atop the tongue and heel, opt for a contrasted red shade, one that’s further used along the outsole as well.
Paired with white laces and midsoles, this upcoming Air Tuned Max should be hitting Nike.com very soon. For now, sit tight and await further updates.
